DIY Cucumber Mint Face Mist

We admit it, Mario Badescu makes high-quality cucumber face mist. It is light, refreshing, and leaves skin hydrated. Except it cost $7.00 for four ounces.

Why shell out that kind of cash when you can make it at home for pennies? All it takes is a few simple ingredients and about five minutes.

We will teach you how to make a DIY cucumber face mist at home using distilled water. Plus, we have added mint to our recipe for even more invigorating results.

Ingredients

  • ½ C distilled water
  • 2 small mint leaves
  • 1 slice cucumber

Directions

  1. Cut the cucumber slice into 4-5 long slivers.
  2. Place the cucumber, mint, and water in a small, sealed dish.
  3. Allow to chill in the fridge for at least an hour.
  4. Separate the water from the other ingredients and place in a medium mister bottle.
  5. Keep in the fridge for the freshest results.

Cucumber face mist benefits

Like placing cucumber slices on your eyelids, cucumber face mist offers a cooling and soothing effect. You will be sure to enjoy this benefit post-workout. Aside from cooling and soothing cucumber face mist provides these extra benefits:

  • May help eliminate acne
  • Anti-inflammatory
  • May reduce the appearance of age spots and freckles
  • Pre makeup primer for improved application
  • Set makeup for longer wear

Why use distilled water for face mist?

You should always use distilled water to make face mists at home. Distilled is a purified water with <1PPM of total dissolved solids. In other words, there are no contaminants or minerals. Also, distilled water is chlorine-free. The chlorine in tap water can make your skin dry and inelastic.
