Mountain Valley Blackberry Pomegranate sparkling water has inspired my new take on a modern-day classic, the vodka tonic. A vodka tonic is a go-to drink choice for many and for a good reason. It is light and refreshing while being low in calories. But, the cocktail can be flat and lack flavor. Blackberry Pomegranate sparkling water solves that issue by providing subtle hints of fruit while maintaining all of the positive vodka tonic qualities you love.
Tonic is carbonated water with a dash of quinine which gives it the customary bitter taste. If you have ever found yourself with a case of the munchies after a vodka tonic (or three), the quinine is why. Quinine was initially used as a hunger stimulant. I don’t know about you but, when drinking, my hunger needs no further help being stimulated, thank you very much.
Rather than prompting stomach growls, Blackberry Pomegranate adds a moderately sweet flavor to your vodka tonic with no sugar, carbs or calories. There are about 100 calories in our recipe, all hailing from the shot of vodka.
Fresh blackberries are optional. However, they do add more flavor and are packed with health benefits. Blackberries are rich in vitamin C, and K, fiber, magnesium, and they may boost brain health. Most of all, they just look darn pretty in the cup.
Cheers!
